This chapter, page 86, is about my experience of art and design education in the late nineteen sixties, when women were still largely excluded from design education. It has been widely recognised that women have been excluded from many histories, including art history.

A key text when I studied art history was Gombrich’s The Story of Art, which included no women. My friend Claire (after reading this chapter) told me about a new book called The Story of Art Without Men by Katy Hessel.
